I have often felt during the past two years that, despite the rise of ridiculously good music in to me most noticably the dance and rock music genres, no magazine really write about the music that I like. They take their picks, naturally, and they have all written about something I like at one point or another, but in the mix is always the trash that I don't like. England is better than most countries when it comes to criticism of music. However, unfortunatley I live in Sweden and even though this page will be entirely in English (for the benefit of whomever may find his or her way here and doesn't know Swedish.) it is mainly directed to the Swedish audience. If you like music and want to stay in touch with new, good music try any of the following magazines that are actually quite good, in the order as given; i-D Magazine, the Face, NME. Or tune in here every now and then and maybe I will have found a golden nugget for you. Featured in this issue are: LCD Soundsystem, the Rapture, ZeroZero and Trans Am. Yep, it's dfa theme month!

Gemütlichkeit is German for cosyness. In Swedish this is called Gemytlighet. I took it from a picture on the wall in my room in Clubhouse Youth Hostel in Berlin. Excellent place, I can recommend it.

At the moment I am listening to the Faint, Danse Macabre. It's very good. Also the Kills, Black Rooster ep (still!). It's also very good.

The idea from the beginning with this site was a general guide to music and venues. It has not yet turned into all that. Bear with me, I am working alone.

In London I recommend: the Motherbar (always), Teenage Schizoid and Tate Modern. In Berlin: tacheles, and all of the East side. Except the schnitzels', I recommend the ones on the west side. In Göteborg I recommend Gump on thursdays. Otherwise it is all bad right now in my dear home town.

The picture up there was taken in the summer of 2002 in Nice, close to the train station at about six in the afternoon.
